Hi all,
Could anyone shed some light on upgrading HPE WebInspect version 10.xx to latest version of HPE WebInspect 16.20 please? Should I be backing up the default sql database that WebInspect is utlizing? Can I run the latest version of installation file to upgrade? Do I need to uninstall the old version of HP WebInspect?
Thanks!
Anna

A WebInspect upgrade is simple - just run the new installer and it will take care of removing the original version and carrying forward all your custom settings. Scans will not be affected, and when you first open an existing scan or start a new one you will be prompted to upgrade the database and will be provided with the SQL Query to do so. Your options there are to let WebInspect run the query or copy it out and apply it directly to the database. As long as the account that WebInspect uses to connect to your database server has dbo permissions on the WebInspect database then the former option will be fine. If you are unsure then take the latter option and run the query against the database as a database administrator.
