How long does a scan take?

I started up a trial version this morning and put in a project for it to scan.  8 hrs later it still says the scan is "in progress".  How long does a scan take?

You did not specify the product. Is this question relating to Fortify SCA for code analysis or Fortify WebInspect for dynamic analysis? If SCA, your Java memory settings may be low, the total LOC to be scanned may be high, your machine may lack RAM/CPU versus the System Requirements, et al. If WebInspect, your site may have some action that generates dynamically-named, new folders/pages infinitely, or there is a custom state-keeping parameter that is being clobbered by the scanner, or a variety of other odd items on that site. You will need to review the Scan Tree in WebInspect and decide what configuration edit is needed to handle that particular scenario. Regardless of the product, have you contacted Fortify Support (support.fortify.com) yet? Has your company purchased Training credits for your team? Have you found and reviewed this "cheat sheet" for specialized WebInspect configurations?
