Language Pack for Fortify SCA/WebInspect

There is some way to add language pack for issues's explanation and recommendation in Fortify SCA/WebInspect?

Re: Language Pack for Fortify SCA/WebInspect

  • SCA - Yes, rulepacks are localized for: English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Spanish.  (Note that I corrected this item after my initial post.)
  • WebInspect - No custom language packs (see below)
  • SSC is not localized yet.
  • Fortify On Demand (SaaS) - No packs to load, but does have localized UI's available

WebInspect does come in these localized installations, but has nothing the user may add-on:  English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (two), Spanish.  All of the product documentation appears to be in English or Japanese only, with some staff-generated copies in Spanish here and there.

The WebInspect Report Details shown in the vulnerability descriptions come from language-specific SecureBase files, and these translations lag behind the actual check updates.  The English SecureBase is the primary, and the content in the others are updated after-the-fact.  Some Reports may show the translated content for the Vulnerability Details, but the other portions of the Report will remain in English.

+++++

Separately, despite the language of your particular WebInspect installation, there are scan settings for handling targeted web sites that use specialized language/character sets.  These may be enabled under the Default Scan Settings > Attack Expressions panel.
