Using manual scan(Step Mode) unable to get the URLS to be scanned

Hi,

I tried to start a scan in manual mode(Step Mode). But while opening the application in step mode, I faced some problems in IE8 to open the application so I tried opening the app in MOZILLA . And to work with Mozilla I have made following changes in browser proxy setting and in WebInspect.

In WebInspect Under Application Setting-->Step Mode-->Proxy Listener-->Local IP Address and Port Number is same as Mozilla browser proxy setting.

The Default Audit mode is - Audit as you browse and Automatically assign port is uncheked.

The application is opening in Mozilla but the crawled URLs are not coming in Step Mode.

Please suggest.

Thanks and regards,
Ankur Singh.

Re: Using manual scan(Step Mode) unable to get the URLS to be scanned

Is the target application on localhost and does your browser's proxy options have the Bypass Proxy for Local Sites enabled?

Are you able to browse this web application with Mozilla and/or IE alone, without WebInspect or our Web Proxy?

Could the issue be that WebInspect's default User-Agent (Cookies/Headers scan setting) is configured by default to be IE?  Does editing this change the outcome of your connection testing?
