Distribution List

Anyone knows what API to use, when converting a NDS group to Distribution
List?

You can do that in ConsoleOne, but only with one group at time; so i need
to automate this process.

Re: Distribution List

With a little bit of pain and cleverness you could
a) Grab the edir group with an ndap or ldap Active X controll
b) Flip through the memberships and record
c) Create the DL
d) Populate appropriately.
I think it could be done, it just would not be much fun.

Re: Distribution List

I reread what I sent and I need to clarify. Never post solutions while deep
in programming.

a) Grab the edir group with an NDAP or LDAP ACTIVE X CONTROL
b) Flip through the memberships and record them somehow
c) Create the DL using the GROUPWISE ADMIN OBJECT API
d) Populate appropriately.
I think it could be done, it just would be a lot of work to make it work
right.

Re: Distribution List

You'd have to correlate Mailbox ID with NDS IDs. Which don't necessarily
correlate.

Re: Distribution List

They do if you are carefull to make them correlate.
But I'm coming from the perspective of an administrator who programs for
himself.
If your writing an all purpose product to sell, your point is more
relevant.

Thanks for the response, but this is not what i intend to do.
The real deal is, that i want to convert a Existing static group into a
dynamic dito after publishing the static group as a Groupwise distibution
list, as described in TID 3074853.

So, i need to, Publish the group as a GroupWise distribution list, there
must be an GW API to do that...
