DocumentAccessRights

Hi,

Is there someone who know how to get DocumentAccessRights set by default for a user on a library before add a doc in it.

I just want to preview them in my own form to inform the user rather than going to the GW-Options-Documents-Library Properties-default value of sharing.

Because, i don't find the way in OAPII, i had a work around.
- I create a temporary doc on disk, add it in the libray, read the properties and delete it.
Work fine , but some users don't have "deleted" rights in the library and they get many "garbage" doc.

Any idea ?

Re: DocumentAccessRights

There is not a way to set default rights for a user.
The default sharing rights, properties and fields are
set per library, not per user in the library.

Rép. : Re: DocumentAccessRights

Perhaps, i'm not clear.
For now, i don't want 'set' DocumentAccesRights of the user in a library.
I just want 'read' them.

You said "There is not a way to set default rights for a user".
Right by object API, but you could set it by GW Client.
And this seting is per library and per user

Theses defaults are OK, but sometime for a special document you need to add one another.

My goal is to preview default setting, make a form for users to inform him
Help the user to add new right
Apply theses rights to a new document create by my apps

Like "DisplayProperties" token do but in a VB process

Rép. : Re: DocumentAccessRights

It is not possible to preview the default settings.
You can set the default settings.

I created a bug to capture this information.
