How to get the Calendar item's UID

I export the Calendar to a *.ics file in GroupWise Client, there is a UID(like "UID:20141010T060814Z_E43900B6C7D@MyDomain.com") for every calendar items in the ics file.
But I cannot find a way to read this field with GroupWise API, Could you please tell me how to get this value in code?

Thank you!

Re: How to get the Calendar item's UID

I found that we can get this UID by SOAP Web Services (SOAP) API in GW7.0.3 to current versions. But for the GroupWise before GW7.0.3, I still have no idea.

I have another question: Is there anyone know the Novell algorithm for generating this UID '20141010T060814Z_E43900B6C7D'? How can we build ''20141010T060814Z_E43900B6C7D' by Novell rule? Thanks.

Thank you NanLau, your reply is very useful for me
it looks like the UID generated by "timestamp+senderId+messageId", but I didn't find the way to get the senderId

Re: How to get the Calendar item's UID

How can i search calendar item through UID? I am having my own custom unique UID attached with the meeting e.g.
< a0mS00000004k8fIAA*Kiran, 234234242, Num1, Booked, some service*O >.
I need to find calendar item with the above format UID.
