Problem adding a contact entry

Hi all,

I'm trying to add a contact entry to my personal address book, using a Visual Basic program. When I try to add the field for 'Mobile Phone Number' (Teléfono móvil in the spanish version) I always get the message 80020009 - An undefined name used for this element (I'm not sure about the translation beacause I'm using the spanish version). This message only appears with this field. I'm also having problems with the Anniversary and Birthday fields. Does anybody now which format do I have to set to the values for this fields?
Thanks

Javier

Re: Problem adding a contact entry

Hi Javier,

for checking the correct name for your fields in Spanish, iterate through the
collection of 'FieldDefinitions' of the personal abook. This will show you which
field names you can use.

Re: Problem adding a contact entry

Hi Markus,

That's exactly what I've done but it didn't work. I've tried even storing the field name into a string variable and using it for the fields.add method but nothing works. I've tried also the following sentence but I allways get the same result
myField = myABEntry.Fields.Add(myAB.FieldDefinitions.Item(20).Name, egwString, "123456789")
I've seen that any other fields have national characters and blanks in their names ("Dirección de correo electrónico", "Código postal", etc.) but all of them work right, so I cannot find any solution for this.

Do you have any idea?

Thanks

Javier

Re: Problem adding a contact entry

There were problems with the cellular phone number field.
They should be resolved with 8.0.1. Are you in a position
that you can try that build?

Any idea?

Re: Problem adding a contact entry

Set the fields you want set on a contact with
the GWClient. Then iterate though the fields on the
contact using the Object API. See what fields you
get back. Also, iterate though the field definitions
and see what fields are available.

Re: Problem adding a contact entry

Hi Preston,

That worked fine. The field has a different name in the field array than the fieldDefinitions array.

Thanks

Javier
