Uncode issue when adding Task/Appointment/Message

The subject string will be truncated and shown as empty when adding an Unicode subject through the web service. But if you padded same size of white space at the end of string before sending out the request, it works.

It seems that the calculation of the unicode string length is wrong in GroupWise. (the number of characters and the number of bytes in the string are different.)

Is there any other work-around or fix on this issue ?

Thank.

Re: Uncode issue when adding Task/Appointment/Message

I have an outstanding bug on putting Unicode
characters in the subject. I'm just waiting for
the approval to put the fix.

Re: Uncode issue when adding Task/Appointment/Message

Hi, Preston

I am posting the following request message and response message just for your reference. The subject was trucated to "Aêñ" when checking it in the mail client. I just want to know if this is the same issue as the one you logged in your bug list.

Thanks.

Re: Uncode issue when adding Task/Appointment/Message

Yes, that is the problem.
I've put the fix to 8.0.1.
I'm waiting to see if I can put the fix to
8.0.0 HP2 and 7.0.3 HP3.
