createCursorRequest - How to add custom fields to view

Hi all,

I want to use the view feature to shrink the returned data during reading data with a cursor. I defined a custom field "InternalID" and I want to add it to the result view.

How can I do this ? What must I fill in the view Element so that the custom field is returned also ?

Thanx in advance for your assistance.

I addressed this issue back on September 16 of
2005 in this forum. What question did you have
about that posting?
See subject line: "Re: Custom Fields".

I've sent a note to the tech writers to add a
description in the documentation on how to put
a custom field in the view.

Hi,

I can't answer you question, because I'm not able to address your referenced posting. The eldest posting in this forum is from 2007.

I want the system to return standard fields like the ID, modified or created, I also want to select the value of a custom field 'InternalID'.

How can I do this ?

Here is part of the reply:

The problem was that you were asking for "customs" in the view.
In the case of custom fields, we need to know which custom field.
I've put a change to GroupWise that will enable you to get a custom
field in the view.
You need to prefix the custom field name with "custom/".
For example, if you wanted to get the custom field "MyAppRead",
you would have a view:
<view>custom/MyAppRead</view>

If you wanted to get "MyAppRead" and "alexStrField". the view would be:
<view>custom/MyAppRead custom/alexStrField</view>

Hi Prestion,

thanx for the addition. Will this also be available in a possible update/service pack for the version 7.0.3 ?

Sorry, I spoke too soon.
I believe the custom fields in the view should
work in the latest service pack of 7.0.3.

If it does not, the fix will not be ported back
to 7.0.x
