Fully featured Mac desktop client

Whilst there are plans to allow native Mac apps to talk to GroupWise for email, contacts, calendar, etc. we still need a fully-featured Mac desktop client to replace the one that hasn't been developed since GroupWise 8!

As this idea got 300+ votes in he old idea portal and was discussed heavily: we need a client for Mac! The lack of such client has forced countless customer to move to other solutionts and not having one prevents customers from from considering to a move back.

Having a multiplatform client is a must have, not a nice to have.

recognize that simple fact is essential for the future of GroupWise.

A word to CEOs, admins and users:

Perhaps not everybody see this, but there is a movement out of cloud. And companies who do this move need a on prem enterprise ready and proved messaging system. Only GroupWise fits this today.

Exchange is leaving the on prem marked. Notes is nearly gone away. Other products does not scale like GroupWise. They are perhaps more colorful and modern in design, but not so Enterprise and stable proved like GroupWise.

No matter what „the world“ tries to tell you, data has to be stored locally in you own datacenter under your control. Only you  may be able to decide what to share to others. You yourself are responsible for the data your company holds. No paper signed by the CEO of a vendor or datacenter owner protects from this responsibility.

If there is any doubt that a second party could have access to data owned the company without permission of the company, that technology has to be banned.

From this standpoint GroupWise in the future will be the only enterprise proved messaging system which can fit.

Do not fight with cloud. Be the best on prem an have clients for all platforms.

Nothing really new,  just as an addition: We are also about to lose an GW customer because they insist for a Mac client.

New Member.

As a Novell Guy since 1995 I was more than happy to have the opportunity to move our company mail system from Exchange to GroupWise.

While evaluating the new version we have recognized that there is no longer a native MAC Client, which has in time ended the project.

🔔A native MAC Client is mandatory.
