I'a satisfied GW Mail user, but would prefer a native client. And for IOS as well!

Wouldn't it be better to have the lasted active sync version implemented, so every client talking active sync can easily connect?

Build it keeping in mind emulation on Linux, if done well it may well cover the needs for a Linux client. I see Android being where Windows was back in 1990/1991 in starting its huge rise towards dominating the industry, so please don't miss this opportunity.

If possible to manage the peak hours/days like in Samsung email client.

An android client taking direct to groupwise implementing all the features of groupwise is needed. There are so many different android versions out there You cannot guarantee that the activesync client

on the device will work correctly. Of course you could tell your users to use activesync in gmail or install one you know works - perhaps outlook - but what does that do for groupwise? When users start asking why they can use outlook on their phones but not their PCs.

One more thought on this: a GroupWise for Android client would also bring GroupWise to Chromebooks

We have many customer requests that also want a native Groupwise client for Android and IOS.

The ZENworks Mobile Workspace mail talks SOAP with GroupWise so that may be a good start. This also forces the additional needed security imo.
