AD Authenication And Expired Passwords

Hi all,

So I setup AD authentication and it works. GW connects to AD using SSL. However, when I go into ADUC and click on "User must change password at next logon", the user cannot login and no change password dialog box comes up. Is there anything I'm missing?

Thanks
Victor

Hi Victor,

Welcome back to the forums and thank you for your question.

What version of GroupWise are you running e.g. SP? Or R2, and what operating system are your agents running on e.g. Windows or Linux?

Please let us know.

Cheers,
Laura Buckley

Hi Laura,

Running GW2014 SP2 on SLES11. AD is running on Server 2012 R2. I also installed a test GW2014 R2 system against the same AD and have the same results.

Thanks
Victor

Hi Victor

I have asked if this "expire password" feature in AD is supported with GroupWise 2014SP2 - I doubt that I'm going to get an answer until the holiday season is over.

Cheers,

Hi Victor

I've heard back from my GroupWise guru at Novell/Microfocus.... unfortunately GroupWise does not have a mechanism for a user to be notified of an expired password in AD. I'm not aware of any workaround for this issue.

Perhaps put in an enhancement request/idea in the Microfocus GroupWise ideas portal: https://ideas.microfocus.com/MFI/novell-gw

Cheers,
Laura Buckley
