Alert messages

Running GMS 14.2.1 build 237 and seeing some odd alert messages. Not
sure if they're related to a problem one user is having or not.

Anyway, this batch of alerts are:

Problem with shared folder for user: <user>. Verify GroupWise POAs
(Post office) support shares.

Heard of a user having problems forwarding emails with attachments to
anyone in their same post office, or to any groups within that post
office.

I was *told* this was working up until this morning, and I'm trying to
get some info from my contact at this location to see if this user has
any shared folders in their Groupwise account.

Not sure of where to start on this, as this person is able to sync
their email fine with their mobile device (iphone).

Re: Alert messages (update)

So I tried something similar from my mobile device (android v6.0.1) and
the same thing happens.

If I try to forward an email with an attachment, nothing happens, but
if I forward an email with no attachment, it gets sent.

Suggestions?

What version of agent do you have running that POA? It is a new
function, so if you missed updating that agent....
Also there are some known issues with SOAP around this that fix are in
the pipe, so knowing what build of POA you are running would help.

From what client? There is a known bug relating to some iOS versions
that is in the process of getting fixed, and I think is available now if
you open an SR.

iOS upgrade/update overnight would explain this.
Droid's could be the same thing.

Ok, the fact we're still on GW2014 at the poa level probably has
something to do with it.

We've seen it on droid as well as ios, and I have an SR open, haven't
heard anything in a few days.

Hi,

Shared folders/calendars/etc are only supported if your backend is a minimum of GroupWise 2014 R2 SP1.

So my response to laurabuckley's comment is...

Ok, so that explains the alert messages, just wish I'd hear something
back about forwarding emails with attachments.

Totally.
This feature is completed and is available in the GroupWise Mobility 14
R2 SP1 (14.2.1) release.
As per https://ideas.microfocus.com/MFI/novell-gw/Idea/Detail/631

As for that SR, could it be that they are waiting for you to get your
POA to current levels?

So my response to Andy's comment is...

Well I opened the SR about the issue of not being able to forward
emails that have an attachment.

Check the SR in your Customer Centre to make sure they haven't flagged
it waiting for you for anything in-case some such request got lost
along the way. Sometimes support individuals does get stuck on
expecting things without having properly asked for them, so some
prodding at that level might be a good thing.

So my response to Andy's comment is...

I did receive an email about it when I was out Friday (watching the
Cubs world series parade).

Replied back to them this morning as part of their information request
confused me a litte, which is not difficult. <G>

On TV I presume, looks like a long drive otherwise.

Some of the guts of GMS can be a bit challenging at times for the best
of us. You didn't go in much detail of this issue, was it any account
on any device on GMS or some finer detail not yet posted?

Yes, would have been amazing to be there, but figure I got a better
view of the overall thing on tv.

We're having an issue where an email with an attachment cannot be
forwarded via a mobile device through GMS.

An email with *no* attachment can be forwarded just fine, and an email
with an attachment *created* via a mobile device can be sent fine.

Have encountered this on both android and iphone.
