Another users mail displayed on iPhone

Since yesterday we have a major problem with data synchronizer.

An email looks OK in GroupWise but on the iPhone a completely different email from another user is displayed (The subject is OK but the text is from another users mail).

If I do a forward from my iPhone the new recipient will see the correct message.

This must be a major bug, in worst case really secret information from one user can be displayed in another users iPhone.

We run latest version of Data Synchronizer 1.2 with the patch from 19/10
We run GroupWise 8.02 HP2 on Netware.

Anybody have a solution for this problem?

I have never seen this behavior before. If it is a major bug as you say, then it should be affecting all iPhone users...mine have never seen it. I am not saying it is not a flaw...possibly it is, but it is one that is sporadic at best.

I suggest you open an SR with Novell at once.

We have restarted the datasync and after restart we have not noticed any more errors.

During this morning we have had five different iPhones with this problem.
The effected users are all on the same Datasync server, the other Datasync server does not show this behaviour.

I was wrong about when you forward a corrupt email from iPhone. I is still corrupt when it is received.
If you forward the message from GW it is correct.

I have had this occur multiple times. A reboot fixes the problem. I was going through my history of occurrences and your right it does appear to be iPhones only, I had not noticed that before.

This is a scary problem because the messages are intact, they just go to the wrong people.

I am "glad" I am not allone... 😞

Have you talked to Novell about this problem?

As you say, subject is correct but the message body is intact but from another users email.
To me it looks like a database bug in the DataSync software.

Today we experience the same problem on our second Data Sync Server.

Three more iPhone-Users with messages to another user displayed.

This is starting to become a major problem.

Anybody else knows how to solve this problem?

We had this problem a few updates.
Several users had e-mails with foreign content.
The exact date I can not say anymore. Currently there is no longer the problem

$(UPatch File 1 is suppose to fix this issue, do you have it applied? If not, then open a SR with Novell.

We have just received a new patch directly from Novell.

It is now installed on both our DataSynch servers and I will let you know if it solves the problem.

I'm assuming this is via an SR. If so, could you ask Novell what bug #
represents the issue for the patch?

I am affraid I do not know the bug #

We just got a URL to the Novell ftp-site, followed instructions how to unpack and replaced one existing file.
We have now used Datasync for almost six hours without any known problems.

Did you get the URL via an SR? If so, please ask the engineer for the
bug #.

Did a new patch solve the problem.
We are running Mobility Pack 1.2 build 579 and Patch File 1. We having the same issue and I opened SR with Novell.
Some users told that they have other user's contacts and email on their phones, some phones don't sync.

I was told to uninstall datasync and then do a fresh install of the Mobility Pack 1.2.1 build 730.

Is the uninstallation and installation the only way to fix the problem?
