Apple’s new Touch ID feature

I'm using the last version of Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack 1.2.5 Build 299.
I've enabled the option to specify a minimum of 6 characters for the device password.

How can I use the Touch ID feature instead of the device password ?

Regards

This isn't supported by Mobility at this time.

We're currently targeting a release by the end of this year for
GroupWise Mobility Service 2.0. However, I have not heard anything
about supporting Apple Touch ID in that release, either.

Features like Apple TouchID and the Android Swipe, Face Unlock, Face and
Voice, and Pattern don't qualify as passwords.

This isn't unique to Datasync, basically in most MDM and in some cases
just the included device customizations (Samsung for instance), once the
device is encrypted, it kicks in certain requirements that those "cool"
unlocks don't meet.

This is one my arguments against rampant BYOD. If your business requires
certain security, company policy must not be compromised to allow the
use of these features. Obviously there is a middle ground, but
management buy-in must be wholesale.

I just tested this with Eenou (2.0) with an iphone 5s and it seems to work with the number passcode.

This is the steps that I ran:

1) assign a passcode on GroupWise mobility service.
2) added device to account.
3) account should say that there needs to be extra security measures implemented. Created a 4 digit passcode.
4) On the device, I navigated to Settings >> General >> Passcode & Fingerprint >> Fingerprints.
5) The device then asked me to input my previously set up passcode
6) I was able to attach my fingerprint to the passcode I had previously set up - therefore allowing the fingerprint to act as the passcode.

All of this being said, I still had the option of putting in the original passcode to receive the same result as my fingerprint.
