Best Android Client for GW/Mobility?

Got my new Fairphone today and need an Email cleint as the new Android versions do not have any preinstalled email client apart from GMail. Suggestions? K9 seems nice, but does not support Activesync as far as I can see.

OK. Does not have to be. I can live with 15$ 🙂

So far, I find it the most reliable client I know. Second best is Samsung Mail (if you have it), and GMAIL is a catastrophe. Not just with activesync, but especially there.

OK. I will test nine. I really liked the one that came with my old S4. Worked perfectly. I guess Samsung mail is samsung only?

Never tried if Samsung Mail can be installed on non-Samsung devices to be fair.

OK. I can always try. Switching to a Fairphone next monday. Also changing operator. Have to because we got a new "switchboard" 🙂

I am testing Nine now and it seems very nice, but naturally someone here asked "Why don't we use Outlook?" 🙂

That one 🙂 The comments I saw on Google Play were overly negative. Crashes, slowness etc, but i need specifics to convince my colleagues 🙂

I cannot even get it to connect. get a 503. Does anyone know if it is even supposed to work? @probello?

Re: Best Android Client for GW/Mobility?

Due to the extremely insecure nature of the outlook mobile app, it's blocked by default in GMS. You have to enable it's use if you really want to give microsoft the credentials to your your email account.

Ah! Just check "Outlook Mobile App"? Let me test, but I agree with your sentiment.

Re: Best Android Client for GW/Mobility?

That's the main point. The Outlook Mobile app in reality never connects to your server, but to another cloudservice wihch in return connects to your Activesync server. Of course, they do so "securely". LOL.

In other words, you actively give Microsoft the credentials and the contents of your private, on premise, email account.
