Character set wdanish nationalith national chars

Hi,
using web access with Firefox.
When writing/replying, accessing either address book or mail setting (category etc), any danish national characters (æøåÆØÅ) is converted into ?
Why is that?
Never seen with either Linux or Win full client.

It is indeed UTF-8 in that test.
Seems that it appears when replying to mails, perhaps mails from other systems has some kind of coding, that GW8 doesn't get??
How does browser Char encoding interact with mail mime-encoding (see attached)?

Re: Character set wdanish nationalith national chars

Try the newly released HP1 on a test system with the same msg....

Might be, that it'll fix this for you, and I myself haven't seen it.

Also, if we need to dig futher into this, we'll need the mime, and not
screendumps

Hi,
had the opportunity to have a closer look on latest material with origin mail and follow-ups? Or do you think I should simply accept these issues?
Thanks

Hi Tom,
it could be a the pattern, the on inbound mail with
Content-Type: text/html;charset="iso-8859-1"
the gw WA client sets sending encoding to Windows default, instead UTF-8
It seems, that setting it manually to UTF-8 the mail will be OK.

Is that a bug?
Or working as designed?

Just checked with the full client: Replying to same mail gives a correct and automatic UTF-8 encoded reply.
