Cleanup rule on all clients

Hi there. I would like to set a cleanup rule on all clients. I can see where to do this. Does the rule apply to all folders in a user's mail box eg inbox sent items and cabinet items?

Re: Cleanup rule on all clients

Hi Thomas,

Are you referring to the "Cleanup" you can set in the Client Options? If Yes then the answer is yes. If you, for example, set the "Mail And Phone" option to Auto-Delete after x days, then all email and phone messages found everywhere in the mailbox that are more than x days old will be deleted. Let us know if you need more information.

Re: Cleanup rule on all clients

Hi Laura

Thanks for the info. Yes I do mean the global Clean up you set for client options. Sadly the reason for this is that the school has decided to move to Exchange and Office 365. So I am looking for a measure of clean up before I migrate 🙂

There is also the GWCheck (Mailbox/Library Maintenance) Expire/Reduce
Messages that allows you to be a bit more aggressive.
The cleanup rules could have been set by some users previously and
setting it globally doesn't overwrite them. To even just do an
Expire/Reduce job to just make sure the Trash has been emptied is a
good idea even when having the cleanup rule set.
