Company bought out

We were recently bought out and in ConsoleOne under GroupWise System our current Domain Name is BUDCO_DM and I would like to change it to SEDBUD_DM as well as the Post Office from BUDCO_PO to SEDBUD_PO. What is the best way to make this change.

Thanks,

Rick

Re: Company bought out

You can create a new domain with that name and promote it, if you only have one domain, and create a new PO with the name you want and move users to it. Otherwise you would have to create a new GW system from scratch.

You cannot rename post offices or domains (internet domains, yes) in
GroupWise.

If you really must do this effectively, you have to

a) run gwcheck on everyone
b) set up a parallel set of domains and postoffices
c) move users a few at a time to the new PO

Re: Company bought out

Thanks, we do just have one domain. I will create a new domain and post office and see if that works.

Re: Company bought out

Please don't forget about a Backup of the Domain Database first.
After the move is completed, synchronized the databases.

Side topic, but from a DR perspective you want to have at least two
domains. This way you can rebuild one domain's info from the other if
necessary, but if you only have one domain and it gets corrupted your
only choice is quite possibly restore from backup. If you can install
an MTA on another server (or even this one worst case and run it on a
different port or different IP) and have a secondary domain you'll be
much better off.
