Contacts link on nav bar missing

I have a few users with GW 8.0.2 clients that have the contacts link missing on the NAV bar. They have also found that auto complete from their frequent contacts doesn't work. I tried to add frequent contacts to the nav bar via customise nav bar but it is missing from the list of address books. However if click the main address book tab the frequent contacts is listed as an address book. If I start GroupWise as the admin user on the same machine everything seems to work as expected.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thanks
Thomas

And what if you have the user log into GW on another machine, or at least another profile on the
same machine? Important that they are not using their Windows profile. The client option of
/@U-? helps here nicely, just make sure no other instance of GW is running on that system,
including Notify.
We want to determine if this is a User account problem or a local profile issue.

Re: Contacts link on nav bar missing

Testing on one machine for example, user admin starts gw using /@U-? and everything is fine ie contacts link is on nav bar and frequent contacts acts as expected.

User "Fred" on same machine again using /@U-? contacts link is missing from nav bar and problem arises.

Ah yes, "Fred" as per Laura Chappell's Truth#3 http://www.konecnyad.ca/andyk/10truths.pdf

So in otherwords it follows the user, not the machine.
Well we should be able to fix it with some GWChecks, but as a starting place, what scheduled GWChecks are
you running? It should be something along the lines of http://www.konecnyad.ca/andyk/gwmnt5x.htm and
that you periodically give the contents check/fixs as per http://www.konecnyad.ca/andyk/gwlogs.htm which
may already lead you to the root cause if it doesn't fix it.

Re: Contacts link on nav bar missing

Hi,

Run a GWCheck with "Reset Client Options" selected.

Please let us know how that goes.

Cheers,
