Delay showing properties of a message

A couple of users have mentioned that it looks like there is a delay updating the status of message\delivering a message. When a person checked at 8PM the properties of an important message the properites did not indicate that the pserson had received the message. However the next morning the person was able to see that message had been opened at 5:36 PM the day before. The person was using Webaccess to view their messages, etc. They are also saying that other things are not happening as soon as they should. e.g. enabling an absence rule not taking effect. GroupWise is running in a Windows 2008 server with eDir.

Possibly either system hitting limits or something else snagging things
up.
Lots of little things to check, so help us 'see' your system.
How many users? How big is the mail box? How much memory and CPU cores
does this system have and how heavily are they used?
I'm assuming this is a single POA/MTA/GWIA/Webaccess system all on this
one box, please confirm.
What patch level of GW?
Monitor the web consoles of each of the GW agents, especially the POA
Thread Status. Are those threads hovering at 0 with blips up. Or are
they pegged high lots of the time?
When does your regular maintenance run? Both scheduled GWChecks as well
as things like A/V scanning.
Do you let the A/V touch the GW databases? If so turn that off ASAP.
