Device ID's

Having trouble associating given DeviceId's within GMS especially where iPhone 5's and 6's are concerned. Trying to tie GMS' DeviceID to any recognizable number within the device i.e. Serial Number, IEMI, MEID, etc.. Can't match it to anything. The DeviceId's in question tend to be 26 character strings. What are they based on?

This is a change Apple made in iOS 8. The new device IDs, to my
understanding, are completely random. This means you can no longer tie
a device ID to a particular device.
