Device Password Security Policy

Since a long time the option "Device Security Policy" is enabled on my system GMS Version 2.0.1 Build 53.
I only use the option Minimum Password Length=6 and Inactivity Time=6.

Today some users ask me why they have to change the passcode. The phone said the passcode doesn't match the policy of GMS.

Any ideas why ?
Is it another level of policy if the phone upgrade his ActivSync protocol from 2.5 to 12.1 ?

Did you change the way of the Authentication for GroupWise? or is still LDAP Authentication?

Still LDAP authentication. I've never used GW authentication.
