Droid X (Android ver 2.2) and GroupWise System Address Book

Just got the Droid X to connect with the mobility server and for the most part it appears to be working ok except sending new mail.

When typing in a contact (to search a contact located in the GW system address book), when found the name format displays correctly User Name (user.post office.domain@mydomain.org).

As soon as you select that user, the format changes to "post.office.domain@mydomain.org User Name" <user.1st part of post office name>. It takes the User Name and 1st part of PO name and moves it to the end of the address. This causes the e-mail to not go through and actually posts as a posted message in the senders GroupWise account.

We did try this on an iPhone and it works fine, keeping the correct format. So I was thinking this is a Droid issue.

Hope this made sense -- I will try to give a better, more specific example if anyone can help.

Thanks

I have seen several issues specific to the droid x and the droid pro. i think it's something to do with the implementation of the motoblur overlay on those devices. does it work if you use a 3rd party app like touchdown on that device? just a thought.

Sounds like an Internet Addressing oddity. First, are you using IA?
If so, is your default IA format UserID.Post Office.Domain@Internet
Domain Name? If it is, what happens (as a test) if you do an override
for this user and change it to just UserID@Internet Domain Name?

The Motoblur server at Motorola has been having problems since about noon on
Monday.

Re: Droid X (Android ver 2.2) and GroupWise System Address B

I was hoping to get it to work without Touchdown. We have a user with the previous Android version and that was the only way we could get her Droid working. I at least have this one working except for searching the address system address book and I can't send attachments.

Re: Droid X (Android ver 2.2) and GroupWise System Address B

We are using IA and the default "preferred" format is UserID@Internet Domain name. However, we are also accepting UserID.Post Office@Internet Domain Name. The oddest thing is that when it finds the contact name after typing it in, prior to selecting that contact the address format is correct -- after selecting it changes the order of the format, putting the first half at the end rather than the beginning. I'd like to get this working without having to purchase a 3rd party app.

When using the iPhone, we type in the contact name the exact same way, it shows the address format exactly the same -- the only difference is it keeps the format and sends the message.

That's really strange. I've got a Droid X user, so I'll see if I can
duplicate.

In the meantime, just curious, what version of Mobility and what
version of POA are you running? I can't help but to think you're
possibly running into an old bug.

Re: Droid X (Android ver 2.2) and GroupWise System Address B

Mobility is v1.1.0.2209 and GroupWise POA is 8.0.2-92377. The POA and Mobility are both running on Linux servers. The Domain is running on a Windows 2003 Server.

Thanks for you help.

At the bottom of the browser, what's the build number displayed?
