Email encryption

It's recently been brought up here the possible need to encrypt email
going out over the internet.

I'm wondering the easiest / best way to do this. I've looked in the
documentation about using s/mime encryption, but this might be a
massive PITA with users having to keep track of certs on whatever
machines they use to access their GW account.

Anyone have any suggestions for this that are somewhat simple to set up?

There are two basic routes for encrypting email over the internet.
1) User to User using S-MIME, PGP, or such end user managed systems. Not
at all enterprise friendly.
2) Server to Server encryption, specifically using the TLS parts built
right into ESMPT that GWIA supports. Just create an SSL/TLS cert and feed
it into your GWIA and your connections to all other systems already set
for this will generally be encrypted.

There are still other steps to make it more secure, but it is a start.
Follow up questions are best for the GWIA forum just next door (or next in
the Novell forums list, which is where I'm going next)

Andy Konecny sounds like they 'said':

So my response to Andy's comment is...

Ok, will start a thread there, thanks.
