GMS 2.0.1 Windows 8.1 connection.

I upgraded our datasync server from ver 1.2 to GMS 2.0.1 last week so it would be easier to sync Windows 8 devices. I'm having issues with Windows 8.1 on a MS Surface Tablet connecting. The current Android and iOS devices seem to still be working and I can connect new Android and iOS devices.

I have not been able to create an exchange account with EAS or non EAS and connect the device like the documentation describes. Does any one have any tips for getting windows 8.1 to connect? I was able to create an account on the tablet using LDAP but it does use GMS when connecting.

Do you have a real or a self-signed certificate? In my experience,
Windows-devices will not connect to a self signed one.

It is self-signed. I have been reading the TIDs indicating a cert from a CA should be used. Just have to ask before purchasing one. Thanks

Buying a cert should make things easier overall, not just for Win phones. The cost is less than 200$ per year and even cheaper yf you buy for multiple years. We always use Digicert, they are fast and have good customer service.

FWIW, some people have gotten self-signed certs to work, see:

But having to goo through hoops whenever someone buys a new phone is not worth it, IMHO.
