GMS 2.1 doesnt display all poa in dashboard

Hello,

we have added new domains and po´s to our long time running groupwise
system. After some firewall adjustments we moved the first user to the
new post office. This works so far. But after adding this user to gms I
got an error "failed to login to groupwise".
Some checks done and important environment info

1. old po on oes11, new po on windows server
2. gms user source was set to ldap and also auth was set to ldap
3. ldap source was set to edir
4. I added the new user using groupwise search - got above error
5. I changed user source and auth to groupwise, restartet the groupwise
connector
6. added the user again - same error
7. in the dashboard I checked the POAs and missed the new created

Howto teach gms to accept the new po´s?

Gotthard

Re: GMS 2.1 doesnt display all poa in dashboard

Hi Gotthard,

Not too sure if this is relevant to your situation or not! I had a similar problem on an earlier version of GMS not picking up a new post office. I hate to say it, but, I rebooted the GMS server.

Hi Go,

Then, at this point, I'm not too sure. Let's wait to see what the rest of the community have to offer.

I'll post back if I can think of anything further.

Cheers,

Re: GMS 2.1 doesnt display all poa in dashboard

GMS only knows about other post offices from the "main" post office redirection table (or also know as the redirection post office).
Can you log into your http page for you main PO > Configuration > Redirection table; this should show the correct IP and port of your new PO.

If the above checks out, I would suggest checking the network connection to / from the new PO server.
Can you telnet the new PO SOAP port (7191 default) from the GMS server?
Can you telnet GMS Groupwise connector port (4500 default) from the PO server?

If you have the latest dsapp (231), you can test a SOAP login (menu options 5,2,1)

Let us know how it goes after the firewall rule has been added.

Re: GMS 2.1 doesnt display all poa in dashboard

Have NMAP on GMS server? It can be installed via package management.
SSH to GMS server and issue: "nmap -PN -p 7191 <ip address of email server>".
That should show open. If filtered, firewall issue. if closed, POA issue, maybe SOAP not enabled?

The co-worker stated, the rules were correct.

From POA I can telnet the gms server on port 4500.
Netstat -p tcp also shows the connection as established.

Re: GMS 2.1 doesnt display all poa in dashboard

I'm curious if the SOAP loginRequest isn't being directed correctly?
If you have the latest dsapp v232, could you set the dsapp logs into debug "dsapp --setlog debug"
Then run options 5,2,1 and put in the failing users ID.

In the /opt/novell/datasync/tools/dsapp/logs/dsapp.log you should see the address the redirection POA told the SOAP request to go check... is that correct?

Checking for ganger in datasync database
Found 'ganger.gw-efpo01.gw-efdom01' in datasync database
Checking for ganger in mobility database
Found 'ganger.gw-efpo01.gw-efdom01' in mobility database
Starting GroupWise SOAP check on 'ganger' at http://10.192.70.32:7192/soap
SOAP redirection to http://a.b.c.d:7191/soap
SOAP redirection to https://a.b.c.d:7191/soap
Done checking 'ganger' on GroupWise SOAP

all Infos given in the log above are correct.

after deleting my account from gms and re-add I found these entries in
groupwise-agent.log:

[CP WSGIServer Thread-3] [gwsoap:424] [userID:ganger] [eventID:]

Solved:
Groupwise connector was set to unsecure connection

POA requires secure SOAP connection. After changing to "SSL deactivated"
under SOAP and restarting POA service my account on GMS is finally in
synced state.

Puh...
