GW and pdf attachments

Has anyone figured out a way to get Groupwise to 'behave properly' when
dealing with pdf attachments? It's been doing it for a while IIRC.

If I have several windows open (differet applications, etc) and right
click and open a pdf attachment, focus shifts from GW to another
window, then the pdf opens with adobe reader.

Then after closing adobe, the pc focus is still on whatever other
window it shifted to, not back to the GW client.

Have seen this in GW2014sp1, sp2, GW2014r2, and IIRC it still happened
in GW2012.

Hi Stevo

Sorry for the slow response. It would appear that you have experienced this issue for a while now. Do you have a bug/defect number for us so that we could look into this for you?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Just to rule out one possible culprit, do you have a system that you
can have none of the adobe bits on it and use some other PDF reader.
Even just adding another PDF reader as the default may well make a
difference. I haven't experienced this, but then I use Foxit Reader.

In the clients' registry, what does
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pdf
point to?
Perhaps following that chain may help you.
