GW8.02, Windows 2008, GWIA won't start as a service

Windows 2008 x64 server, POA and MTA running as services start fine. I can start gwia from the command line using the /home- switch and forward slashes in the path. When I try to start the service I get this notice from the Window Service Manager
GWIA
Agent root directory does not exist: mail:\domain\wpgate\gwia. Gwia won't start if I use the the same /home- switch in the service properties dialog. I have edited gwia.cfg and used both forward and backslashes to no avail. I am on the edge, can anyone help me?

Re: GW8.02, Windows 2008, GWIA won't start as a service

Who is this service running as? it sounds as if there is a
differenece between what runs the GWIA and the account that is running
the MTA/POA

Even if it is not the account that is different, there sould be a fire
rights issue for the user in the wpgate/gwia folder.
