GWIA-Standalone-Installation

Hi,

where do I find instructions on how to do a standalone-installation of the GWIA on an OES 2018-SP1.

I want to connect the GWIA by TCP to the domain.

Regards

Re: GWIA-Standalone-Installation

Hi Karl,

Do not do this. The MTA and GWIA should always be running together. Why do you want to separate them?

My guess is that he wants to setup an alternate failover GWIA, and to be
fair, it's documentation is *very* thin on that aspect.

The "best" documentation for this, including the only really useful way
to set this up if you really have to is here:

https://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/19354.html

However, I highly prefer a real cluster for this.

Re: GWIA-Standalone-Installation

Hi Massimo,

the problem starts before where the cool-solution kicks in (which feels more like old netware-world).

I do not find an approach to install the gwia-binaries from the gw18-distribution.

My goal is to have the GWIA running on a seperate server.

There is only one install for all binaries (MTA, POA, GWIA).

Yet you have to have a MTA running there too.

Re: GWIA-Standalone-Installation

Ok.

Looks like I have to rethink my approach.

Thank you very much.

Remember that you can have multiple MTAs/Domains
I have a few clients setup where GWIA has its own domain/MTA and runs
with that on its own VM
with the purpose being if something nails GWIA, I can bounce the box/vm
without dropping users from any PO.
