Hyperlink not working in client 2014 R2

Hi,

I have a strange problem with the groupwise client for some users on Windows 7.

The client opens in HTML mode. If I try to click on a hyperlink nothing happens.

The strange thing is if I go to Text mode and back to HTML mode than the link is working. I have try to go to another PC, to log as a different user on the PC but nothing changes.

It seems that the problem is within the Groupwise account of the user.

Any idea where I should look to correct the problem?

Hi,

If it is only one user and the problem follows them to a different computer I suggest that you run a GWCheck against the user account with the Reset Client Options selected.

The solution was good at the moment, but one day after the problem is back 😞

Any other idea?

Hi Bernard,

If the Reset Client Options solves the problem, then to me it indicates that there is a setting somewhere that the user is changing. So confirm this get the user to exit the client and Notify, run the Reset Client Options again and confirm that the problem is resolved. Then ask/observe what changes are being made by the user.

Another question... in the options of the client, what is the HTML browser set to?

This time the reset client options did not change anything. It seems it was luck the first time.

The HTML browser option is set to default browser.

Hi Bernard,

Are the mails containing the hyperlink coming from internal or external sources... perhaps test both.

Also, just for clarity sake, please confirm the client build for us please.

Hi

AFAIK, GW is using IE for displaying HTML in the background (as other
programs like MS Word does). Setting "HTML-Browser" is used for opening the
link in the desired browser.
If the link is inactiv, you should a look to the IE settings.

The problem is just gone now :). I suppose an update of some other product (windows or other) did it.

But anyway thanks for the help.
