Inactive Mailboxes - Can i see which ones are inactive?

Hi.

Looking in System / Information I can see that we have x amount of users that are "Inactive Mailboxes"

How do i actually get a list of the inactive mailboxes (we have multiple post offices at multiple sites within the one Groupwise system).

Is there a simple way to see these inactive ones so I can see if I they are on maternity leave etc... Or if I need to just delete these accounts?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Inactive Mailboxes - Can i see which ones are inactive?

I'd carefully apply this
mailboxlicensetype=unknown
as a filter in the console. It shows exactly those objects (in the lab i'm currently working on) which are reported "inactive" in a current audit report. I stated "carefully" because attribute 63271 (LicenseType) seems to hold values 0,1 or 2 in the database while it's schema def offers "unknown", "full" or "limited", the relationships "0=unknown, 1=full, 2=limited" seem pretty clear. I'm just wondering why the translate it "unknown", likely because they translate it "anything NOT being "full" or "limited"". So it could actually represent other states apart from "inactive", i just have no ideas which states these could be. Anyway, if you add the "last login time" in the console you'll likely see whether the list makes sense.

One way is to pull a list of all the users from your primary system as per
https://www.novell.com/communities/coolsolutions/making-groupwise-user-
listings-just-link-away/
and sort by lastClientLoginTime and investigate
hopefully the known leaves are put in description or a similar field, i.e.
Thats the sort of place to put the results of your research with expected
time back.
This spreadsheet is the spot to sort by mailboxLicenseType to see that
angle as well.

Re: Inactive Mailboxes - Can i see which ones are inactive?

Thanks GUYS 🙂

Both appear to be correct. They both gave me the same answer.

The spreadsheet is awsome.

Field BE is the mailbox license type. Sorting it alphabetically stuck all of the UNKNOWNS together and they matched the amount. None of them have logged in recently so thats perfect.

I tried the other method as well and that came up with the same list.

I believe that the user data from gw admin only shows if the user has the forceInactive attibute set. I'm not aware of a way to find / display users that are inactive due to real inactivity.

Re: Inactive Mailboxes - Can i see which ones are inactive?

Your right, but for those I just get the .csv and sort by last logged in and find those easily.

Then i can just check with the relevant department / hr team.
