Installing Mobility Service 2.0

So I download the iso. When I get to the point in install where it says "select Local ISO image and click next" the ISO will not load. Screen locks up. System is running Server 11 sp1. Help.

Re: Installing Mobility Service 2.0

Hi

Quick question - did you check the checksum on your downloaded ISO? It could be corrupt!

Re: Installing Mobility Service 2.0

I don't know how to do a checksum. But I downloaded the file two different times and neither download worked. Either both downloads were corrupt or something else is wrong. Instruction No. 7 "Type anything in the Repository Name" seems like a suspect problem.

Re: Installing Mobility Service 2.0

Hi,

I only know how to do this on a Linux system: md5sum <filename>

That will give you the checksum that you can compare with the one listed on Novell's website: 8144d097cef71efc02f460dce5428028

If you get a different value back, then your ISO is corrupted.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,
Laura Buckley

Re: Installing Mobility Service 2.0

Right. Did that in past. Running the check, file checks out just fine.

Yes, GroupWise Mobility Service 2.0 is only supported on SLES11 SP2 &
SP3 and not SLES11 SP1 as mentioned in the original post.

I seem to recall a bug within YaST on a previous version of SLES
relating to selecting an ISO although I'm sure that's not the reason why
SLES11 SP1 isn't supported - that's to do with SLES11 SP1 no longer
being supported by SUSE (and SLES11 SP2 also soon won't be supported).

If SP2 still gives you issues, try just copying (or typing) in the full path to
the ISO - as Simon mentions, there have been issues in the past with this, and
usually just typing in will fix this.

Re: Installing Mobility Service 2.0

Thanks. Unfortunately though I am stuck. I am at Novell Data Synchronizer Version: 1.2.4 Build: 966, but when I try the upgrade to 11.sp2, it says I have to install current version as an add on from ISO, but I no longer have the ISO for Novell Data Synchronizer Version: 1.2.4 Build: 966 and have no idea where to get it. Only old ISO I have is named novell-data-synchronizer-mobility-pack-x86_64-183.iso and I don't think that is it.

Re: Installing Mobility Service 2.0

Thanks to all. Updated to 11 sp2, then to NDS Ver 1.2.5, then updated to Mobility Service 2.0. ... Not sure if it makes a difference, but this machine is running under Hyper-V, and instead of running the Mob Service 2.0 ISO from the virtual server, I saved it to the Windows Server, and inserted it as a CD and installed it. Worked fine.
