Issue with calendar invites and routing domains

Hi,

I have an issue I don't quite understand I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

We are in the middle of a merger and party A has GroupWise 2012 and party B has Exchange 2013.
I have successfully setup mail flow between the two systems using subdomains.

Both domains share an address space of user@domain.com and all users have an alias for GroupWise user@groupwise.domain.com and Exchange user@exchange.domain.com
When a GroupWise users sends an mail to an Exchange User the address is found in a Shared Address book.
Thus a mail from sue@domain.com for david@domain.com is send to david@exchange.domain.com when he replies. Sue@domain.com matches a contact with an target address of sue@groupwise.domain.com.
Email works fine back and forth.

If we do the same with an calendar invite the messages arrives in Exchange but when the uses accepts the invite the “accepted” message never reaches the mailbox of the GroupWise user.
We see it leaves Exchange and we see in the GWIA log and then it’s gone … no NDR nothing.

Who has an idea where to look? Any help p is highly appreciated.

Re: Issue with calendar invites and routing domains

Hi Remy,

Sorry to bug you for further details, but, what is the support pack level of your GroupWise 2012 system and what platform is it running on (OS and SP please).

Is your GWIA logging set to verbose?

Care to share the relevant lines of your GWIA log with us?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
Laura Buckley

Hi Laura,

Thank you for your reply.

GroupWise is running on Linux. The Service Pack levels I don't know ... I will post those later.
Logging is set to Verbose

Re: Issue with calendar invites and routing domains

Hi Remy,

Thank you for the reply.

The log that you posted was of three different mesages (take a closer look at the MSG ID) - so obviosly we need more from your logs.

If the return "Calendar Acceptance" notification was MSG ID 4690735 - then we need the rest of the logs with that message ID in them.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
Laura Buckley

Re: Issue with calendar invites and routing domains

Hi Remy,

If the message is indeed accepted by the MTA, then that is the next place that we would need to look to see if the message is delivered to the Post Office, and then finally to the user concerned.

Please post back you findings.

Cheers,
Laura Buckley

Re: Issue with calendar invites and routing domains

Hi Laura,

I can't find the message in the MTA log. Should the message ID be the same?

Re: Issue with calendar invites and routing domains

Hi Remy,

In the GWIA logs, there should be a line after "queuing to MTA" that gives your the actual unique identifier of that e-mail.

Example:

00:01:33 320 MSG 19234197 Queuing to MTA
00:01:33 320 MSG 19234197 File: /media/nss/GWDOM/gd1/wpgate/ia1/wpcsin/4/4375555d.g51 Message Id: (5375393D.DA1:249:40353) Size: 4.3 Kb

Use that to track the message on your MTA - perhaps post the MTA log output here. Then look for it in the POA logs and give us that information too.

Cheers,
Laura Buckley

Re: Issue with calendar invites and routing domains

Hi Laura,

I have tested this once more and with an email there is a line after Queuing to MTA however with a calendar appointment Queuing to MTA is the LAST line.

Please advise.
