LDAP Sync drops First Name

I have Groupwise 2014, connected to eDir (OES11 SP2) with two LDAP servers connected. Sync, authentication all work, however, whenever you force a sync, The First name at least of the user account is dropped. The only way of getting it back is to open ConsoleOne and edit the Groupwise object for that person and add in the First name. It then appears back in Groupwise until the next sync. The eDir object of that person has a Given Name field filled in.

The LDAP object is firstname, linked to the eDir attribute 'Given Name'

Any ideas?
Thanks
Eric.
