Lost Documents....

Can documents that have been deleted be restored using Filer????

If so.. how do you re-index the library so they can be seen????

If not.. how can they be restored????

TIA,

Re: Lost Documents....

You need to know the document number, otherwise it gets really difficult

If you know the number, recreate a document reference using that number
(ignoring any warnings), then go into properties, access log to see the
file names.

Use Tools/Resotre document from backup to get the document back into the
system

Thanks for that Dave.... don't know if it'll work but I'm trying to
find the numbers.

If I can't lock it down is there another way, like maybe
re-indexing/copying into another library????

TIA

Re: Lost Documents....

If the file has been deleted, then it has gone. The only things that *may*
remain are the history logs pertaining to the document and the index card
information. Hence the requirement for the document number.

Without that, it is well nigh impossible to track down a file.

As an aside, always, always, always remove the Delete right at the library
level, then no one can ever delete documents and you never get back in
this situation

Cheers Dave
