MailBox reporting larger than it is.

GroupWise 2012
Client says the user account is over. User has a 10GB limit, the groupwise client says they have 35GB mailbox. WebAccess also says the account is over. In ConsoleOne show the the user account is only 5GB. I have ran analyze/fix datebases and expire/reduce messages with reduce only, with no help. Anyone seen this before?

Hi

Have you done a "reset disk space totals" with gwcheck? I think the option is on the analyze/fix option if you select a content check instead of a structure check.

Let us know,

Cheers.

Re: MailBox reporting larger than it is.

That did not help it also says that User stats: 4235 messages in the InBox but there are only 68.

The "InBox" in question is ALL mail received and still in the mailbox,
not just that special folder called 'InBox'

The tool GWMBSize from http://www.anykeyonline.nl/oldsite/ should help
you get a better picture of what is where. In the past I've found it to
be a closer match of mailbox size to quota triggers, but that has been
a few versions. Let us know what you see.

Re: MailBox reporting larger than it is.

Hi,

Sometimes there can be a corrupt item which has a perplexingly large size, and this blows up the quota.

Go into the desktop client --> Tools --> Check Mailbox Size --> ( for each option in the View radio box ) --> Wait for the list to build --> sort by size and carefully look at the top and bottom of the list. We have found corrupt appointment or task items with "-1" or ( infinity ) for the size. Delete and purge that one item and Bob's your uncle.

Re: MailBox reporting larger than it is.

If I am not mistaken, after you run the GW check with the reset mailbox totals option, you also have to run an audit report to update console one.
