Messages in Problem folder
GW 2012 SP4 - small system ~20 users. Fibre 80Mb/20Mb broadband
I see dozens of messages in Problem folder
Can't see anything wrong with most of these messages !
If I rename .bad to .001 and pop it in the Receive folder - 9 out of 10 times the message get delivered to the user
Anyone know what might be the problem ?

I'm more used to finding problems with those in the problem folder, so I
think this indicates there is a more general problem with the system.
So tell us a bit more the system starting with OS and related host
resources and how heavily(or not) they are used. Take a look at the
system and GWIA logs as there may well be a good clue there.

Hi,
Any type of anti-virus software on that server? Anything scanning your e-mail?
Please let us know.

am assuming that is for the vm guest GW is running on, but what
Operating System (there are several in the market) and what version of
it?
Starting points for:
Windows? http://www.konecnyad.ca/andyk/pcmaint.htm
Linux? http://www.konecnyad.ca/andyk/nixadmin.htm
In addition to any A/V, what else is running on this vm guest?
Anti-virus should NOT be scanning the GroupWise files.

all the users are setup as external entities as these users don't need eDir account - "Agents" & Field Sales

Yes, NOT initially but since we were having these issues we put a EFA Spam filter in front of the GWIA
I asked a friend for some help and he suggested putting their spamfilter in front of our GWIA
This is a Linux based appliance and used by about a dozen or so servers I'm told
about 3 other GW2012 systems, 1 GW2014 system and rest are Exchange 2010 / 2013
None of these have issues like this
I thought about deleting GWIA and reinstalling it but not had the chance to do so

Hi
I suggest, if you haven't done so already, to configure your system to mail problem messages to the GroupWise administrator. Then take a look at what comes through and we might get some indication of what exactly is wrong with the message.
Please let us know how it goes.
