Messages in the SMTP receive queue

I have some messages sitting in my smtp receive queue on one of my primary GWIAs. In the old days I could locate these files but now I'm mystified. I know messages would have an x as the first letter in the name indicating it's in transit. I search the file system where I think the files should be and come up blank. What am I missing?

Re: Messages in the SMTP receive queue

Hi,

You don't say where you were looking... but the "receive" directory is a subdirectory of the GWIA working directory.

Cheers,
Laura Buckley

Re: Messages in the SMTP receive queue

Right, thanks Laura. That directory is empty on the host running the GWIA. That's why I asked, the files should be in the folder and all being with the letter x to show that the message is in progress. I thought I looked at it when I shut the gwia down. Seems like the files should be someplace in the filesystem.

BTW I'm running groupwise-server-18.1.1-133172.x86_64

Thanks again.

Yes, and likely 'hiding' in 'plain sight' if we look in the correct
places. I'd watch the 'receive' directory you expect them to be in
while the server is running and receiving mail to confirm it is the
correct place, otherwise you might have to verify where GWIA's home
directory is.

What version of the host OS is this running on?
Perhaps using your OS's file search options to find those files.

Thanks for the advice. Sorry to be so long getting back with you, I was out last week on a much needed and faithfully earned vacation.

This is for a gwia, where are you suggesting I run gwcheck, on the domain?

sorry for the delay on this end, part life getting in the way part
trying to figure best way to guide you here. Also wondering about the
GWCheck on an agent or domain option mentioned Cgreiner

when was this gwia last restarted? The whole server?
I have occasionally seen such 'stuck' references go away after one of
those restarts.

You could let the server search for the file itself like this
find / -name x7e5bac5.930

might take a while depending on what else is on the box, or you cold
cd to the domain/wpgate/ folder and
find . -name x7e5bac5.930
