Migrating GW 7.0.4 on Netware 6.5 to Exchange 2016

Hey,

I hope to get some ideas and different approaches to migrate about 60 users from Groupwise 7.0.4 running on a Netware 6.5 box to a new Exchange 2016 installation.
We run now eDir on Netware with Groupwise and already have all users created in Microsoft AD. So we do not need a directory migration, but only migrating Groupwise (email, calendar, adressbooks) to Exchange.

Thank you for any input.

Michael

We just did this..... originally at GW 8.03 HF3 on netware to O365 (so yeah 2016 exchange)

1. All of the tools we looked at required GW2012 on linux at a minimum.
2. All of the tools have "gotchas" as in, stuff that works on GW won't export to exchange (i.e. if they dragged their mailbox into the GW documents folder, GW works fine, the tools can't find it to export to exchange)
3. NetIQ's IDM helped immeasurably with doing things in AD easily.
4. To make things easier on us, we moved GW 2012 on linux (OES11Sp2 , clustering) to FLASH SAN Disk to improve throughput.
5. We big banged the migration, it took us 2 months to precopy 10K mailboxes to Exchange ahead of time, then over a weekend, shut down client access to GW, moved the MX record and did a final delta to EXO
