Mobility solutions wihtout the Mobility Pack

HI all need to know if anyone has been successful with running GW mail and Synching the calendar without the mobility pack. I am still running 32 bit server(linux) but I cant really afford to have a separate server just for a mobility solution.
we had previously used Blackberries but the BB is not updating its SW to synch with current versions so we cant synch our calendars - any good ideas/solutions - I am out of ideas here. appreciate the help

Hi,

Most of the current cpu's are 64bit. If so, you will need to trash everything and reinstall/rebuild your environment. Another option is to create a virtual environment and migrate everything. It is a lot of work, but worh it in the end.

Good luck.

Not sure what your question is really. Yes, there are alternative
options (third party) to sync (with what?) groupwise calendars.

Hmm. And here I thought BBs would need a seperate server. 😉

So you're saying you can't in any way afford a machine that can run
datasync? But you can/could afford having blackberries? Sounds like
broken priorities to me.

Keep in mind that the next version of GroupWise, code-named Windermere,
is 64-bit only so you'll need new hardware in order to upgrade. If
anything you should look at replacing the server to prepare yourself
for the future and at that point you could leverage something like the
free version of ESXi to virtualize and run multiple servers on the same
physical box: one server for GroupWise, another for Data Sync, plus
potentially consolidate any other servers you may have in your
environment.
