NMS & ldap

So, switching a Messenger setup from edir to ldap for the agents, what
all effect will users see from the client?

I've been doing some testing. So far things seem to be the same,
however I added a few custom statuses, but they have yet to show up at
the client end.

Is this normal?

Hi Stevo

After making changes, centrally, like adding custom statuses, did you restart the Messenger agent?

So my response to laurabuckley's comment is...

Sure did, couple times even.

Hi Stevo,

Sorry, but I'm not too sure what to suggest further 😞

Let me think about it for a while.

Re: NMS & ldap

Hi Stevo,

I found this in the documentation:

New Messenger users see your custom statuses when they first start the Messenger client. Existing Messenger users who might have created their own custom statuses are not affected by your custom statuses.

Perhaps that applies to your situation?

So my response to laurabuckley's comment is...

Could be, but I know I have not done anything with custom statuses in
my test environment and I don't see the custom ones I've created.

Re: NMS & ldap

Hi Stevo,

What happens if you "lock" the custom statuses on the server side in the policy?

Also, which policy are you modifying? Default? Or do you have additional policies?

So my response to laurabuckley's comment is...

Only have the default policy.

When I lock the custom statuses, they still do not show up at the
client.
