Notify: Messages disappear

Hello!

I have a problem with Notify from Groupwise 2012 (We use the Client 12.0.1).
Our users directly login on Notify at the startup of their workstations, without opening the Groupwise client itself.
If they get a new mail or a new appointment, it pops up with the small Notify window, but if you open it from there, it just disappears in Notify.
If you open Groupwise, the mails/appointments are there, but our users are really annoied by this problem with Notify.

Are there wrong settings or is there a patch for this?

Thank you for your help!

Re: Notify: Messages disappear

Hello elagrew!

I don't think this is working as designed, because when I open the Groupwise Client itself and close it again, click the message in Notify it opens up in the Groupwise Client.
This should be the way we want it to work (Start the PC -> Notify pops up to login (Groupwise Client stays closed) -> Message appears in Notify -> open it -> Groupwise Client opens with the message)

I think you misunderstood. His Groupwise client doesn't open when he
doubleclicks a message in Notify. That certainly isn't WAD. 😉

I've sen that once before, it was some sort of installation issue that I
however can't recall right now. It is not normal though. Normal, as in a
general bug in the software). So I can only sugest right now to try a
clean install to see if it behaves the same.

Re: Notify: Messages disappear

Hello!

I'm sorry that I didn't reply earlier, but I was on holiday.

The problem is, I can't re-install the GroupWise client because it's installed on like 500 machines. We roll it out with a system that doesn't let you delete programs like this. Also, the down-time would be very expensive, also if it's just a day or something like that. We thought that it could also be something that we can fix in the registry of MS Windows, but after hours of search and trying out things we let it be. Do you know another way to find and solve the problem?

Thank you for your time and your answer!

The recommendation of installing on a clean system is so that if that
works, you can closely compare that system's registry or files rolled out
with the production ones and hopefully find the difference that lets you
roll out an easy fix.
On option to consider is rolling out a newer client as just doing that may
fix the problem. There are several ways to roll out client updates and
they would be worth investigating, especially if an update to one system
fixes the problem.
