Ofviews question 8.0.3hp1

I just ran into the 8209 error while refreshing ofviews while doing some health checks after getting some 'groupwise is slow!' complaints and not being able to find any logical reason for this. (8209 problem described at Support | 8209 error on POA when refreshing Post Office Views )
The folder renaming mentioned in that TID had no effect on 803.

While manually copying the last ofviews into the PO/ofviews folder I noticed that there is a rather extensive amount of files in there still, some dating back to GW5.
Does GW8 still require all those old views or can I purge them and replace them with just the ones from 803Hp1 ?

I'm also pretty sure I neglected updating these files during multiple updates in the past.. Not sure if that's going to be a problem or not.

I just checked my PO/ofviews folder on my 8.0.3 server from my Win7 workstation and there are 147 .vew files in there. All of the file types are listed as "Novell Groupwise 5", but I do not believe this is indicative of the actual version of the files. I think that is just the way the Groupwise 8 client still registers the .vew file association on the Windows workstation.

Neither this particular server, nor the workstation from which I was viewing the files ever had Groupwise 5 installed.

Conz,

if you are sure nobody uses older clients, you can rename the ofviews folder and replace it with only the files from the version you are using.

Thanks Uwe, I'll clear it out after our server move. There's over 2000 files in there right now.
