Only Webaccess Basic Interface available on iPhone ?

Hello,

We have successfully upgraded to GroupWise 2012 webaccess and the new webaccess interface is available on Windows devices and iPad but only the basic interface is available on iPhone ?

Is there any way to have the full interface on iPhone ?

Thanks

No. The mobile templates are not configured for iPhone, and iPhone cannot
double-click to use the "full" webaccess.

You can also go to http://www.caledonia.net/blog/?page_id=266 and look at GW
Mail by Ghost Pattern Software. I recommend it to all of my customers who use
GW on iOS devices (quite honestly, even if they use DataSynchronizer, as it can
view some attachments that will not be usable on the iOS devices otherwise).

Re: Only Webaccess Basic Interface available on iPhone ?

There is a way to get full interface, use this URL for login: https://yourserver/gw/webacc/?User.interface=css

It will have limited functionality however, because there is no double click - you won't be able to open and read email messages for example.

Re: Only Webaccess Basic Interface available on iPhone ?

You can also use https://yourserver/gw/webacc/?User.interface=mobile
That will give you iPad's interface. Not much will fit on iPhone's screen because of huge graphics, but it is more usable than full interface because you can read emails.

If you are going to go to those extremes to try a workaround, I really suggest
you just save yourself some headaches, and spend $10 to get GW Mail. I know
people want "free", but think of the time and frustration you save by using
something that works over just trying to avoid spending anything on a solution!

Hi Danita, have been using the app from ghostpattern, but it does have issues on gw2012 forward and reply doesn't work. They are working on the issues however. Otherwise a fine app.

An email client that cannot reply or forward is indeed useless.

Is there a reason that you chose not to use Datasync server and the ActiveSync capability already built into iPhone?

Re: Only Webaccess Basic Interface available on iPhone ?

Have just not found the time to install it yet - only reason. But I'm a JUST MAC guy and don't want to loose the ability to sync contacts between devices - iphone, ipad, mac desktop, server and as of yet the syncsolution doesn't do that - or does it? I just want to be able to have cal + contacts sync with cal alarms on all devices.
Will try the solution thou with a little more time.

It is endeed and has been formthe last two years. No problems at all.
Snow Leopard server + vmware fusion 4 + oes 11 + sless11 and GW
8gb ram, sdd for server and a 2T NAS for files and virtual machines.

Functions well

This is quite incredible/unbelievable.
How many other virtual machines run on this Mac Mini "server"?
How many GroupWise mailboxes?
How big is the post office?
It's only one post office, right?

Re: Only Webaccess Basic Interface available on iPhone ?

Mac mini/8GB ram/SSD 240/ VM ware Fusion 4
+ all files included VMs on NAS 3T/raid 5
2 VMs: SLES 11 64bit & OES11 64bit

Haven't decided yet if I'm implementing OES 11 fileservices or MAC fileservices
Now all files are on my MAC mini and I only use OES+SLES for mail and iFolder

The only change in the last 1,5 years is move from traditional 7200RPM disks (mirrored raid 1) to using only 1 SSD for system
The system is backed up by TimeMachine and the rest via Backup program daily/weekly/monthly/yearly
The diskchange was mainly because of the disks running too HOT on the mac mini. I lost two disks due to this (I think)
first damage 1 year after initial installation, second 10 days ago. Last weekend I changed disks to SSD and the mac mini is blazing fast
and not at all as HOT as earlier.

Users on the mailsystem is 5 and filesystem users (5 MAC + 2 windows) 7

Haven't had any other problem with the system other than disk failiure (one of the mirrored disks dying)

Hope this answers your question.

🙂

Re: Only Webaccess Basic Interface available on iPhone ?

....and now I feel really stupid. I somehow have been stuck in the old notion that the datasync server is a similar service like GMS was.
BUT today I saw the light and see that it indeed will be my solution for iPhone/iPad trouble I've been experiencing with IMAP not showing messages.

I'm currently adding a third VM to my MAC and will have a syncserver up and running by tomorrow 🙂

YEAH!

There must be some specific thing that causes it though, because I use GM Mail
on my iPhone for various purposes, and I have had no problems replying or
forwarding!
