Re: Optimizing Question

So, accessing with Outlook to same POP3 account downloads in few seconds the same file that takes 5 min under Groupwise. Wireshark shows no errors or bottlenecks with Outlook. Here is what download attempt shows with Groupwise. I think I will need to open a ticket.

Did you see this? Something is malfunctioning here.

Also, your clients sends a window of 2920 bytes still available in
packet 871 (Window=2920), then it receives a 1460 byte segment and
responds with window full. That shouldn't be possible, and is another
pointer to some underlying communication failing badly.

my only purpose was to show it can be down for troubleshooting as I see
you've now done. In my case unified inbox just doesn't work dealing
with multiple GroupWise systems for different companies, there is no
way or reason to combine them.

So if we are finding that it is POP access that is slow for GroupWise
client but not other POP clients, then you have enough for a proper SR
that will get a defect created. If the packet captures show POP3 to
GroupWise as all tiny, but other clients get full, that will be a great
pointer as to what needs to be fixed.

As for IMAP not being able to be part of a unified mailbox, please let
me know if you see any IMAP client doing that. As far as I can tell it
is by design at the IMAP level.

Re: Optimizing Question

FYI ... created a SR for this. ... As to IMAP and unified inbox, seems to be impossible for any email product as far as I am aware. ... Which is why I find IMAP completely unacceptable. Most users want to "touch" email once. ... POP3 unification into GroupWise inbox is one of the products best features, you can then apply rules to items in the inbox and move to share folders, etc. ... If this problem is solved, I will post.
