Outlook Activesync not syncing email

I wanted to test Outlook connectivity to our recently updated GW2014R2 / Mobility 14.2 server but its not working properly.

Outlook setup connects to the datasync server and authenticates. Outlook opens and connects to datasync but then just says "Waiting for Server Response". No error, it just stis there and no email is displayed.

The admin console shows the client type as Outlook, and we don't have any issues with out devices.

Any thoughts?

My first action would be to run a packet capture of this from the system
running Outlook. I'd start by looking closely at the TLS hand shake as
there may well be a problem with the cert on GMS. Is the cert on GMS a
self minted or from an external provider?
What do tools such as below say about your cert when you point them to
your GMS?

Re: Outlook Activesync not syncing email

I've tested 3 or 4 different combinations of Windows 7, Windows 10 and Office 2013 and 2016. All have the same issue.

The server uses a commercial cert and the various SSL sites show the cert chain is valid.

There are plenty of SSL errors though. SSLv3 and TLS 1.0 are flagged.
Datasync also supports weak ciphers and fails due to "Insecure Client-Initiated Renegotiation"

I couldn't find any documentation on enabling TLS 1.2 or enabling Server Initiated Renegotiation.

Have you done any packet captures of this? Just to see about where it
hangs up.

Yes there are some issues that need attention. There are some ugly work
arounds for that.

Ditto.

If you have maintenance, it would be worth opening a service request to
prod them about the issue.
Being able to remove those weak ciphers is a strong need, and since there
isn't a fully supported method, we should ask for it by SRs and voting
(and commenting on if appropriate) on the Idea I just created on this
