POA maintenance tasks

Hello there!
Right, we've been on 2014 (SLES) for just over a week now, but since
migrating, our POA scheduled maintenance tasks have stopped generating the
log emails. For years, our GW8 would run maintenance tasks and send me the
logs via email. But now, I only get an email for one of our POA's.

I've recreated all the maintenance tasks (daily structure & weekly contents)
for both our POA's, but for some reason, the schedule for one is the same
for the other. I don't appear to be able to schedule a different date/time
for each event?

Do I need to create another unique event for each PO for schedule, and 2 for
contents? Is that the only way I can get them to run independently? There is
a theory that because they are running alongside each other, I'm only
getting email logs for one of them.

Any clues?
Thanks, Alan

Not sure if this will help. Sometime after upgrading to 2014, I also
stopped receiving maintenance task result emails. All of mine are set
to email the administrator and CC my email address. I am also listed
as the only Administrator at System, Domain, and PO levels. But
nothing gets sent to my address. After some checking, I did find that
the "admin" account is receiving the results. So for now I have a
rule on that account to forward to me. That has been my temporary
workaround. As soon as I get time, I'm going to open an SR and see if
support can figure this out because I am stumped. If I find anything,
I'll post it here.

Re: POA maintenance tasks

Oddly I've been double checking our config today and found the same issue.

Have you checked the 'General' tab on the Domain (not MTA) and made sure the 'Notify User' is set correctly?
We've created new domains and POs so this wasn't populated and caused this problem for us - I had to go back to GW8 via Console One to figure out where the setting was squirelled away.

@Ken - Did you set the 'CC' field to your mail address or username? I think it prefers username, or at least that's what I've always used and not had a problem

Thanks for the suggestions. The primary had a notify user set, but
not the secondary. And my CC field was set to email address. I
changed it to username. I'll post back after the next scheduled event
with the results. Maybe this will help Alan also.

Re: POA maintenance tasks

Ken I had the same, ie the secondary domain didn't have me listed in the
notify user. I've set that up and will also wait until the next event - will
post back tomorrow...

Thanks again Alan

Re: POA maintenance tasks

I've inserted my full internet email address in the CC field, when I
manually run any maintenance task on one of our PO's, even though I'm an
administrator, it will not get delivered to me. Bare in mind it did on GW8,
no problem.
As soon as I add my email address in CC, the log arrives.
Very annoying, and I'd love to get it fixed. Any luck with you Ken?

Alan,

Even though I am defined as an Admin, email was only delivered to the
account named "Admin" and CC was not working for me at all. (My
temporary workaround had been to create a rule in the Admin account to
forward to me.) So I made the two following changes:

* On the General tab of the domain, the "Notify User" was not set for
my secondary domain - I corrected this.
* In the CC field on the Results tab, the entry was my email address,
I changed this to "domain.po.myuserid".

And now results are being emailed directly to me.

Sometimes just removing all of the notification settings, saving, and then
redoing will fix the issue.

Re: POA maintenance tasks

Sorry for grabbing this older thread, but I recently upgraded from GW8 to 2014 and I can't see where I can have maintenance logs sent to more than a single address/user. Is that possible? It continued to send the logs to my admin user, but I also wanted to send to a 2nd user as a backup.

Re: POA maintenance tasks

Duoh! Posted too early. I saw Laura B.'s reply on the same issue, different thread, in which she recommended using a Group. I setup a group and added the specific users, and set the notification to that group. Will see if it works with tomorrow's email!
