PostOffice: Large fine in wpcsin problem

Hello.

If I look on my server in the wpcsin directory my problem directory is huge...

denoes1:/mnt/grpwise/denpo/wpcsin # du -h
4.0K ./3
2.4G ./problem
4.0K ./2
36K ./1
4.0K ./6
20K ./5
4.0K ./4
4.0K ./7
4.0K ./0
2.4G .

# cd problem/
# ls -lt
rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2536532424 Mar 24 14:02 46f3d492.ds0
# du -h
2.4G .
total 2479508

So this is one large file that's been hanging around for nearly two weeks in the problem directory can i just delete this file?

Hi,

Quick question - do you have size limits on your MTA?

If memory serves me correctly mail larger than the specified size is placed here for eternity.

Cheers,

Yes, it's a very large limit, but we do have a limit. We have design studios that occasionally have to throw a very large email offsite. But not 2.4gb 🙂

Hi,

Perhaps move the file to a different location for a period of time (determined by you) - if no user complains about a missing 2.4GB mail then delete it!

Hi,

Just another idea - perhaps run a GWCheck looking for anybody with an e-mail in their sent items that is larger than 2GBs. This might help identify if there is a culprit or not.
